Summer Mentorship Program

Program Dates: July 3th to 31st, 2020.

The American Center for Reproductive Medicine at Cleveland Clinic has an exciting Summer Mentorship opportunity for highly motivated, academically-oriented medical or undergraduate students and recent medical graduates interested in exploring a career in medicine and/or biomedical research.

Developing a solid foundation for a research or clinical track career in medicine

The program's goal is to encourage students to consider a career in medicine, whether in the reproductive sciences or any other specialty of their choosing. To this end, we have designed the Summer Mentorship to offer students early exposure to a wide range of high quality professional experiences. During this very intense four-week program, participants will:

Learn the art of scientific writing through research articles, systematic reviews and/ or invited book chapters in the field of reproductive endocrinology, assisted reproduction and/ or male and female infertility 
Learn the basics of biostatistical analysis 
Learn to practice various semen analysis tests conducted in an Andrology laboratory 
Learn the art of public speaking and scientific presentations
Participate in daily lectures and group discussions; weekly research meetings and presentations
Through the mentorship and guidance received throughout the program, students will develop an understanding of how reproductive research is conducted. Participants will also learn how to:
Conduct literature searches
Research and write-up on a scientific research topic of interest
Prepare and present PowerPoint talks at research conferences
Present scientific writing projects in departmental meetings

Hone their public speaking and presentation skills
