How to prepare for an interview
Being organized and prepared for your interview will help show confidence and motivation to the interviewer. Here are some tips that might help you.
Research the position/company/department/etc.
Dress in business professional attire - regardless of required attire for the position. For example, if you are interviewing for a nursing position, do not wear scrubs to your interview even though that may be the uniform on the job.
Review the job description and your resume
Practice making eye contact while answering questions
Remain positive about your experience and previous employers and managers
Prepare a list of questions you want to ask the interviewer - bring a pen and notepad to take notes, if needed
Ensure you know where you are going and arrive 10-15 minutes early for your interview
What should you do after your interview?
Shake your interviewer's hand and thank them for their time
Follow up with a thank you card - email is acceptable if the interviewer provided you with a business care or email address
Follow up using the time guidelines you were given - if the interviewer told you they would make a decision in one week, do not call the next day after the interview looking for answers. Respect the timeline you were given.

Use professional social networking to stay in touch, such as LinkedIn
