The Video Interview Tool for Admissions (VITA)
The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) will require applicants that are invited for an interview to participate in the Video Interview Tool for Admissions (VITA), administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), for the 2020-2021 application cycle. The VITA interviews will be used as a supplement to our usual interview day evaluations, and will be used only after an applicant has participated in our virtual interview process. The virtual interview process is new not just for applicants, but also for our medical school, and the VITA is one method of adding additional standardization to our interview process, outside of our virtual interviews and virtual interactive sessions.
If you are invited for an interview at our school, you will receive an interview invitation to complete the VITA from HireVue, the video interviewing platform. The AAMC VITA is an online one-way interview that you will only have to complete once. It can be completed in a location and at a time most convenient for you during the required completion window. Free preparation materials, including an Applicant Preparation Guide are available through the AAMC. A practice test will be available from the AAMC starting in late-July. You are encouraged to prepare for this in the same way you would prepare for an in-person interview.
Information about the AAMC VITA, including preparation materials and details for requests for accommodations, is available here: http://www.aamc.org/vita
