All support groups are free unless otherwise noted.

New Moms' Support Group

Being a new parent can be joyful, confusing and exhausting at the same time.  Come to this support group staffed by nurses from the Lakewood Hospital Birthing Center to discuss your questions and fears.  No reservations necessary.  For more information contact the Birthing Center at 216.529.7006.
When:  Every Tuesday.  10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Nursing Moms' Chat
Visit with an OB nurse to discuss breastfeeding issues.  For more information contact the City of Lakewood Division of Early Childhood Education at 216. 529.5018.
When: Every Wednesday.  9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Diabetes Support Group

Lakewood Hospital's support group offers social support and education in a relaxed atmosphere.  You will have an opportunity to have all of your questions answered.  No reservations necessary.  For more information contact the diabetes educator at 216.529.7559.

When: First Tuesday of each month.  7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  NOTE:  During the winter months the support group will be cancelled if the Lakewood City Schools cancel school that day.

Diabetes Insulin Dependent Young Adults (DIDYA)
DIDYA is for individuals who are insulin dependent and using an insulin pump.  New participants are always welcome.  For more information contact Jill at 216.256.9660 or 440.239.7375.  Please leave a message.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) Consumer and Family Support Social Group
For family members, caregivers and persons with mental illness.  Adults only please.  For more information contact NAMI at 216.875.7776.
When:  Second and fourth Tuesday of each month.  7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Smoking Cessation Program
Freedom from Smoking is an eight-session American Lung Association program facilitated by a respiratory therapist who is a former smoker.  The program is funded by the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation with additional funding support and cooperation from the Community Vision Council.  For more information call 216.521.4200 extension 8093.
Cost:  $15 for all sessions
