Fellowship Opportunity in Patient Experience
Posted on 01/29/2013

Beginning in the 2013 academic year, Cleveland Clinic will offer a one-year fellowship in patient experience leadership. This fellowship will train a physician how to start and manage a successful patient experience program in a healthcare system. Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, the fellow will gain an in-depth understanding of implementing an enterprise patient experience strategy, with emphasis on execution of programs that drive improvements in the patient experience at the local level. Training will focus on the delivery of Cleveland Clinic’s service excellence program, developing and managing a patient relations / ombudsman department, skills necessary for effectively managing patient complaints and interaction with leadership at Cleveland Clinic’s international facilities.

Eligible candidates will have successfully completed an ACGME training program and are boarded or board-eligible in their specialty. Candidates should have particular interest in patient experience, and understand the emotional and spiritual aspects of a healing as well as a clinical environment. The successful candidate will participate in patient experience research with the expectation of submitting one article to a peer-reviewed journal.

Interested candidates should contact PatientExperience@ccf.org for more information on how to apply.
