Cleveland Clinic is proud to have been cited for excellence by both President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney in the nationally televised Presidential Debate of October 3, 2012.

President Obama called Cleveland Clinic “one of the best healthcare systems in the world.” Governor Romney said that Cleveland Clinic is “able to be more effective in bringing down the cost than the government will ever be,” and one of the American medical centers that is doing “an excellent job” and “superbly well” in controlling expenses.

The candidates’ praise for Cleveland Clinic came in the context of a discussion of healthcare costs and quality. Their full comments can be seen in this video clip.

Time and again Cleveland Clinic is named by national leaders, business leaders and national media as an example of “what’s right” in American healthcare. This attention reflects the engagement and dedication of Cleveland Clinic caregivers who work hard every day to give every patient the best outcome and experience.
