Q: How much can I expect to spend for a speaker?
A: Generally, the speaker fees range from $2,000 to $20,000 depending on factors such as number of days away, type of speaking engagement and size of your audience.
Q: What expenses are included in the cost for a speaker?
A: The cost includes a modest honorarium for the speaker. Travel and lodging expenses are additional.
Q: Will the speaker participate in pre- or post-engagement events such as dinner or photo opportunities?
A: Additional events are open to discussion with the individual speaker and should be included in the contract.
Q: When can I expect to review the contract?
A: We will send you the contract to review once the details of the speaking engagement have been determined.
Q: Who makes the speaker’s travel and lodging arrangements?
A: Under most circumstances, the speaker’s administrative assistant will make the travel arrangements using Cleveland Clinic’s travel service.
Flight and hotel arrangements are determined using usual and customary rates. Airline reservations will be coach class seating for domestic flights, and business or first-class seating for international flights. The travel expenses will be included in your invoice. Any incidental expenses (e.g., airport parking, taxis, meals during travel) will be billed separately after the engagement.
