Teaching in the first two years occurs at the Cleveland Clinic, where the classrooms, student lockers and lounge with computers, and the medical education offices reside in the Education Wing of the Lerner Research Institute. This puts students near research labs, clinical space, and offices of many of the faculty, as most of the College's teaching faculty are Cleveland Clinic staff physicians and researchers. Students also have easy access to the resources of the Cleveland Clinic, including the Alumni Library, numerous dining options, and the House Staff Center.
In addition to the facilities at the Cleveland Clinic, students in the College Program have access to all the facilities available to other Case medical students, including Case’s Health Sciences Library and athletic facilities.
During the last 3 years of the College Program, students can elect their clerkships at any of the teaching hospitals in Cleveland (PDF) affiliated with Case.
The PBL rooms, accessible by students for study 24 hours a day, are equipped with electronic whiteboards that can save information in a digital format, capturing notes for later study. A desktop computer with a remote mouse and keyboard serves as a hub for technology used in the room. Other equipment includes a VHS and DVD player, a ceiling mounted projector and a Bluetooth-enabled virtual notepad. An in-room patient examination table provides for hands-on clinical learning.
